Secret Strength by Joni Eareckson Tada

This is indeed a difficult time for us as we eagerly wait for Ana's new birth certificate to be issued. We thought that this part of the process would be "easy", but once again, we are reminded of our dependence on God and His perfect timing in this entire process. Our case manager sent us the following words of encouragement today...

"We consider trials and disciplines to be rude interruptions in our plans for an easy, comfortable life. We demand miracles of healing and are willing to believe all sorts of wild irrationalities in order to get what we want. We seek to escape the promise of hardship rather than allow Him to work out His will in our lives through the experience.

No matter what challenges, difficulties, or pain we go through, we continue to have so much to be grateful to God for…the small, unseen blessings, and the huge, obvious acts of provision and deliverance…

Prayer:
Lord, we want to experience everything You have for us, and we are willing to pay the price of obedience for it. So if there is any area in our lives where we are not walking in full obedience to Your ways, show us. If You want us to do something that we are not doing, make us understand and enable us to accomplish it. Don’t let us drift away. Pull us out of deep waters and rescue us from all that takes us from You. We lay down our will and surrender to Yours. We turn away from selfish claims to our own lives in order to heed Your direction. Take any rebellion in us and expose it with Your truth. Lord we choose this day to obey You because we know our lives works best when we do. In the areas where obedience is hard for us, walk us through step by step."
