The kids were SO excited to Trick-or-Treat this year! I think a lot of the excitement had to do with the fact that we've had so much rain this month that anytime they can get outside, it is exciting. Grace was planning to be a veteranerian, but later decided to dress like Miracle, her American Girl doll - so they were both black cats. Joel wanted to be a laundry bag - much like last year's laundry basket. Ana was all set to be a bumblebee, but at the last minute, decided she wanted to be Pooh. Fortunately, the third child has more options - as there just happened to be a Pooh costume downstairs in the cedar closet! Ana was not in the least bit scared. She sat in the jogger and every so often she would select a house and say, "Daddy- I want go up there." Then she would hold her candy bucket happily until she was ready to go get another piece. It did not matter at all to her that Joel and Grace were going up to MANY more houses. She was just happy with her own little stash! It seemed so nice to participate in a "normal" family activity, given the craziness of the past few months.
